AN ORDINANCE appropriating $100,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2007 Grant Fund to cover a grant received from the Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District to promote waste reduction and recycling in the Jackson County park system, transferring $25,000.00 within the 2007 Park Fund as matching funds, and authorizing the County Executive to execute a Grant Assistance Agreement with the district relating to said grant.

Body
WHEREAS, the County has been awarded a grant in the amount of $75,000.00 by the Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District to promote waste reduction and recycling in the Jackson County park system; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Grant Assistance Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which to effect the acceptance of the grant proceeds; and,
WHEREAS, the grant is subject to a $25,000.00 local match; and,
WHEREAS, in order to place the grant proceeds and matching funds in the proper spending accounts, an appropriation and transfer are necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation and transfer; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be and hereby are made:
