Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 18082, dated February 4, 2013, the Legislature did award a contract to Health Productivity Systems of Kansas City, MO, for the furnishing of certified laboratory urinalysis testing for use by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and the Office of Population Control; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office was recently notified that Health Productivity Services would be closing its business due to a malfunction of its analyzer; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing requests an interim ninety-day term and supply contract with Avertest for the furnishing of certified laboratory urinalysis testing to allow the Purchasing Department the time required to issue and evaluate a Request for Proposals for the furnishing of these services; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments on the contract, including final payment on the contract.
