RESOLUTION #12461, December 7, 1998

INTRODUCED BY Dennis Waits, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with R&T Specialty of Peoria, IL, for the furnishing of DARE specialty items for use by the Sheriff's Department; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that R&T Specialty of Peoria, IL, is the only qualified supplier of DARE licensed specialty items; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County a contract with R & T Specialty of Peoria, IL for the furnishing of DARE specialty items, in an amount not to exceed $10,721.48; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract thereby made.
