Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4334, dated August 8, 2011, the Legislature did submit to the qualified voters of the County a question authorizing participation in the Kansas City Zoological District which was approved at an election held November 8, 2011; and,
WHEREAS, RSMo ?184.506 provides that such zoological districts must be governed by a commission whose membership must include a resident of the participating County selected by a majority vote of the Legislature; and
WHEREAS, such members are chosen from a panel nominated by the Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium; and,
WHEREAS, the Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium has nominated Sharon Cleaver, J.J. Rizzo and Dan Tarwater; and,
WHEREAS, it is now appropriate that the Legislature adopt this Resolution appointing a member to the Commission for a new four-year term; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following named person be and hereby is appointed to the Kansas City Zoological District Commission for a new four-year term, under RSMo ?184.506:

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
