Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County has been awarded $60,000.00 by the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission for the partial funding of one full-time prosecutor as part of Project Safe Neighborhood; and,

WHEREAS, this grant is to assist in the prosecution of federal and/or state criminal charges related to firearm crimes in Jackson County as part of Project Safe Neighborhood and 50% are estimated to be related to illicit drug activity; and,

WHEREAS, the total cost of the project is $86,010.00 and requires matching funds of $26,010.00 from the Anti Drug Sales Tax Fund Grant Match account; and,

WHEREAS, the grant term is from January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005 and the parties desire to enter into Amendment 2 for the continuation of Project Safe Neighborhood, a copy of which is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary in order to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; and,

WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation and the execution of the agreement; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2005 Grant Fund and appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Grant Fund be and are hereby made:
