A RESOLUTION congratulating the Buckner Cyclones Baseball Team upon winning the USSSA AAA 12 year old Missouri State Championship Title in 2005.

Body

WHEREAS, the Buckner Cyclones Baseball Team won the USSSA AAA 12 year old Missouri State Championship Title; and,

WHEREAS, the Cyclones are only in their second year as a team and both years they have won the state championship title; and,

WHEREAS, the baseball team is coached by head coach Jeff Gearhart, assistant coach Tony Melton, and pitching coach Nic Bronson; and,

WHEREAS, the Buckner Cyclones Baseball Team is comprised of ten athletes being Vance Roberts, Jake Slocum, Maverick Price, Tyler Downs, Jeremy House, Reece Ponak, Matt Burnaugh, Spencer Gearhart, Keith Winterowd, Alex Greer; and,
WHEREAS, prior to winning the state championship the Cyclones placed second in the "Road to Omaha" tournament in Omaha, Nebraska and then after winning the state championship the team advanced to the World Series in Steamboat Springs where they took fourth place in the nation; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates the Buckner Cyclones Baseball Team for their amazing accomplishment of winning the Missouri USSSA AAA State Championship Title in 2005 for the second consecutive year.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a

majority of the Legislature.
