Body
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, MO, and Jackson County have sought a regional solution to detention capacity in Jackson County, Missouri; and,

WHEREAS, the County desires to authorize the construction of certain enhancements, including a fire alarm system and installation of double bunks in an amount not to exceed $55,549.00; and,

WHEREAS, the attached First Amendment to the Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement sets forth the mutual understandings and obligations of the City and County regarding these enhancements; and,

WHEREAS, this Agreement is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached First Amendment to the Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, for the installation of a fire alarm system and double bunks, in an amount not to exceed $55,549.00.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
