Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4085, dated February 2, 2009, the Jackson County Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute agreements with certain outside agencies which engage in anti-drug prevention activities for the purpose of preventing illegal drug use and drug-related offenses, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $1,459,657.00; and,
WHEREAS, Friendship House/Catherine's Place was awarded an allocation to provide for anti-drug prevention activities, but due to a reorganization is no longer able to provide these services; and,
WHEREAS, Friendship House/Catherine's Place and ReDiscover, Inc., have collaborated to provide substance abuse prevention services, and due to this relationship, ReDiscover will assume Friendship House/Catherine's Place facilities and staff under the reorganization; and,
WHEREAS, the COMBAT administration now desires to enter into an agreement with ReDiscover, Inc., for the purpose of preventing illegal drug use and drug-related offenses, at a cost to the County not to exceed $10,625.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute an agreement with ReDiscover, Inc., at a cost to the County not to exceed $10,625.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
