Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Havis Shields Equipment of Warminster, PA, for the furnishing of a prisoner compartment to be installed in a Sheriff's Department vehicle; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Havis Shields Equipment of Warminster, PA is the only qualified supplier of the desired prisoner compartment; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Havis Shields Equipment of Warminster, PA for the furnishing of a prisoner compartment, in an amount not to exceed $5,255.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract thereby made.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
