RESOLUTION NO. 18288, October 21, 2013

INTRODUCED BY James D. Tindall, County Legislator


WHEREAS, Bishop Willie Culclager, Jr., Presiding Prelate and Chief Apostle of the Victory Way Free Church of the Most High God True Holiness, is celebrating the 35th anniversary of his service as senior pastor with the renaming of a section of Monroe Avenue "The Honorable Bishop Willie Culclager Avenue;" and,

WHEREAS, this surprise celebration will be held at noon, October 26, 2013, at the parking lot and street between 30th and 31st and Monroe Avenue; and,

WHEREAS, the celebration will include the street renaming presentation, a parade and ribbon cutting, and a lunch buffet; and,

WHEREAS, Bishop Culclager is formerly a member of the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department, where he was promoted to sergeant and served for 35 years before retiring; and,

WHEREAS, Bishop Culclager joined the church of The Most High God under Bishop John and Emma Jane Fowler, which later merged with Victory Way Free Church; and,

WHEREAS, in Bishop Culclager's current role as the International Presiding Prelate of the Free Church Diocese, he has helped expand the church's holdings and helped to produce income for the church; and,

WHEREAS, Bishop Culclager serves the community with prison visits, burials, teaching high school courses, and providing financial assistance to parishioners in need; and,

WHEREAS, Bishop Culclager is married to Vivian Lee Love and is the father of four daughters; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Bishop Willie Culclager, Jr., on the occasion of his 35th Pastoral Anniversary celebration and wishes him continued success in the future.
