Body
WHEREAS, the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission (MHTC) is planning to relocate Route 150 in South Kansas City; and,

WHEREAS, the new alignment of Route 150 will cross Blue River Parkway which is owned by the County; and,

WHEREAS, the MHTC has requested a conveyance of 14.17 acres, a permanent easement of 0.45 acres and a temporary easement for the purpose of drainage of 0.77 acres in connection with the road relocation; and,

WHEREAS, the park land carries restrictions from the National Park Service that require replacement property of at least equal value be provided when land is conveyed; and,

WHEREAS, the MHTC has identified replacement property adjacent to Blue River Parkway which has been approved by the National Park Services as meeting the requirements of the restrictions on the park land and such replacement property meets with staff approval; and,

WHEREAS, the conveyance of the property and proposed easements to the State of Missouri and acceptance of replacement property from the State of Missouri by the County is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached General Warranty Deed in favor of the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission; and,
