Body
WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit North High School varsity cheerleaders recently won, for the second consecutive year, the Class 5A state championship at the Missouri state cheerleading competition in Columbia; and,
WHEREAS, the 20-member squad, including 13 seniors, features: Jessica Nielsen, Katie Jo League, Amanda Piskuric, Lauren Hammond, Koree Rutter, Angie Seif, Jenna Burzinski, Hannah Northway, Nicole Swaney, Natalie Forte, Anna Nicholson, Adriane Palacios, Kaytlyn Gardner, Kelsey Lawrence, Ally Blevins, Danielle King, Jackie Sharp, Kayla Auffert, Tiffany Angier, and Amie Davis; and,
WHEREAS, the coaches leading this outstanding squad are Mindy Sipe, Jennifer Meiries, and Wylie Drury; and,
WHEREAS, the cheerleading squad adopted a "Can't Stop Now" campaign which has led them to a 1st place regional status in addition to it's latest Missouri Class 5A State championship while competing against 19 other squads; and,
WHEREAS, the varsity cheerleading squad of Lee's Summit North High School is deserving of community recognition for its outstanding performance and for the countless hours of practice that went into achieving its goals; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature extends sincere congratulations to the Lee's Summit North High School's varsity cheerleading squad on its victory as Missouri Class 5A state champion.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
