Body
WHEREAS, there is a conflict between existing sections 9058. and 9059. of the Jackson County Code, regarding the staff of the housing resources commission; and,

WHEREAS, an amendment is necessary to reconcile the conflicting provisions; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Enacting Clause. Section 9058. and 9059., Jackson County Code, 1984, are hereby repealed, and the new sections enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as sections 9058. and 9059., to read as follows:

9058. Administration of Funds by Housing Resources Commission.
Subject to the approval of the County Legislature, the Housing Resources Commission shall allocate and disburse the funds collected and appropriated pursuant to sections 9054.-9057. in the manner provided and set forth in sections 67.1062 et seq., RSMo, as amended. [The Office of the Legislative Auditor shall serve as staff to the commission and the commission shall have no authority to hire or retain any additional employees.] Any contracts entered into under the authority of this section shall be executed on the County's behalf by the County Executive.

9059. Housing Resources Commission Staff.
[The staff of] The Housing Resources Commission shall [consist of one (1) person appointed as the Housing Resources Commission staff assistant by the Chairman of the Legislature subject to the approval of the Legislature for a term of two (2) years with the first term expiring as of January 31, 2007] have such staff as may be authorized by the County Legislature in the annual budget.
