Body
WHEREAS, every year the month of March is designated as Women’s History Month by Presidential Proclamation, to honor women’s contributions in American history and recognize trailblazing women who are doing work that lifts their communities; and,
WHEREAS, recognition is in order for a woman for her undoubted leadership in promoting health, wellness and fitness and that is Estelle Brooks; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Brooks has chosen to use her academic training which includes a master’s degree in social work to focus on addressing the “whole person” - spiritually, mentally, physically, and creatively; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Brooks is a proud Jackson County resident and lifelong resident of our community, works alongside clients every step of the way, providing encouragement, support, and the practical tools for success; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature hereby honors Estelle Brooks for her fearless determination to improve the quality of life for those who are so often overlooked and forgotten.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
