Body
WHEREAS, the County currently provides group health insurance plans for its employees in accordance with an agreement authorized by Resolution #9920 for the 1994 calendar year, and extended by Resolution #10513 for the 1995 calendar year, which agreement expires December 31, 1995; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature has been studying ways to handle the health insurance issue; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has directed the Purchasing Director to commence the process of soliciting bids for group health insurance plans for its employees for calendar year 1996; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature believes that the County Executive should discontinue the bidding process for the employees' group health insurance plans and should notify all potential bidders of the bidding process's discontinuance; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby directs the County Executive to discontinue the bidding process for employees' group health insurance plans and to notify all potential bidders of the bidding process's discontinuance...Attorney
Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage by the County Executive.
