Body
WHEREAS, the Mid America Assistance Coalition (MAAC) has been awarded private grants from the Kansas City Power and Light Co. and Missouri Gas Energy, in the aggregate amount of $330,000.00, for the purpose of providing utility assistance funds to clients of the Drug Court Program; and,

WHEREAS, MAAC has requested matching funds in the amount of $10,000.00 for its program; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; and,

WHEREAS, the attached Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which these matching funds can be transferred to MAAC; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with MAAC to provide utility assistance funds to clients of the Drug Court Program; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
