Body
WHEREAS, on August 21, 2023, the Jackson County Legislature adopted Resolution 21380, inviting the Missouri State Auditor to conduct a full and comprehensive audit of the County’s policies and procedures related to the 2023 property assessment process; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Legislature believes that public confidence depends upon fairness and accuracy of data and accessibility to an appropriate appeals process; and,
WHEREAS, on October 5, 2026 the Jackson County Legislature received the final report of the Auditor’s findings; and,
WHEREAS, after thorough review of those findings, the Legislature has met and has agreed upon the attached letter in response to those finding; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Legislature are authorized to sign and send the attached letter to the Missouri State Auditor in response to State Audit Report related to the 2023 Jackson County Assessment Process.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
