Body
WHEREAS, on April 6, 2000, Dr. Robert "Bud" Hertzog was awarded the Citation of Merit from the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources at the University of Missouri- Columbia; and,

WHEREAS, this prestigious award was given to Dr. Hertzog in recognition of his professional work as a veterinarian; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Hertzog, who earned his bachelor of science degree from MU in 1952 and his doctor of veterinary medicine degree in 1956, has owned and operated the Lee's Summit Animal Hospital since 1956; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Hertzog has also been active in politics through the years, having served on the Lee's Summit R-7 School Board for 11 years and is currently serving his fourth term; and,

WHEREAS, he also served on the Jackson County Legislature for 16 years where he held the position of vice chairman for two years, chairman of the Public Works Committee for two years, member of the Public Works and Land Use Committees for 15 years, and member of the Anti-Drug Committee for two years; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Hertzog is also actively involved in numerous community activities, including the Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce, Jackson County Farm Bureau board, Lee's Summit Economic Development Council, Lee's Summit Downtown Merchants Association, and University of Missouri Extension Council, among many other associations; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Hertzog was recently elected to the Executive Board of The American Veterinary Medical Association as one of its 11 delegates, and has received the University of Missouri Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumnus Award, and was named by the M...
