Body
WHEREAS, by 17506, dated February 14, 2011, the Legislature did authorized the execution of Cooperative Agreements with certain municipalities within Jackson County for 2011 DARE program funding; and,

WHEREAS, in 2010 the COMBAT Administration standardized the DARE funding on an annual per student basis and all municipalities were placed on a calendar year funding format; and,

WHEREAS, because the Board of Police Commissioners for the City of Kansas City operates under a different fiscal year, it was unable to spend all of its allocation during this transition, and $16,638.00 of its 2010 DARE funds have been returned to the County; and,

WHEREAS, the six remaining DARE agencies have requested to use the available funds for their DARE programs for the remainder of 2011; and,

WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the funds in the proper spending account; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated fund balance of the 2011 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund be and hereby is made:
