Body
WHEREAS, there is a need for legal services from the Dysart Taylor Law Firm as this law firm has experience handling legal services for the County previously; and,
WHEREAS, legal representation is needed to handle legal proceedings and matters regarding employment investigation; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing and the County Counselor recommend the award of a contract for legal services for use by Jackson County to the Dysart Taylor Law Firm of Kansas City, MO, as a sole source purchase; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chairman of the Jackson County Legislature be and hereby is authorized to execute a legal services agreement with the Dysart Taylor Law Firm of Kansas City, MO, for employment investigation at a cost to the County not to exceed $75,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing and the County Counselor, and that the Interim Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
