Body
WHEREAS, on August 1, 1998, the County entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kansas City, Missouri Board of Police Commissioners for the Midwest HIDTA Kansas City Metropolitan Enforcement Task Force Initiative whereby the United States Office of National Drug Control Policy awarded funding to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in the region composed of the states of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota, for the purposes of combating the manufacture and importation of methamphetamine; and,

WHEREAS, an addendum to that Memorandum of Understanding was executed on March 23, 1999, accepting additional funding; and,

WHEREAS, the parties now desire to modify certain terms of the agreement, as amended; and,

WHEREAS, the attached Second Memorandum of Understanding provides a suitable mechanism by which to implement the agreement and understanding of the parties; and,

WHEREAS, in order to make funding under this Memorandum available to the Prosecutor's office, an appropriation is necessary; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:
