Body
WHEREAS, as a member of the National Association of Counties, Jackson County is eligible for discount prescription drug cards to be made available to the residents of Jackson County, at no cost to the County; and,

WHEREAS, the discount prescription drug card may be used at participating pharmacies and will provide savings to the user in the range of 15% to 35%; and,

WHEREAS, the cards will be made available to all Jackson County residents at metro area public libraries, community colleges, and other social service agencies; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute an agreement, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, with CaremarkPCS Health Systems, LLC of Northbrook, IL, and National Association of Counties of Washington, DC, for the furnishing of discount prescription drug cards to be made available to the residents of Jackson County, at no cost to the County.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
