Title
A RESOLUTION awarding a twelve (12) month Term and Supply Contract for the furnishing of petroleum products for use by the Public Works Department and Parks and Recreation Departments to Heathwood Oil, Inc. of Kansas City, KS and Champion Brands, LLC of Clinton, MO under the terms and conditions of an existing government contract. This award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount. The availability of funds for specific purchases is subject to annual appropriation.

Body
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department and the Parks and Recreation Department are in need of petroleum products; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1040.04 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Purchasing recommends the award of a twelve (12) month Term and Supply Contract for the furnishing of petroleum products to Heathwood Oil, Inc. of Kansas City, KS and Champion Brands, LLC of Clinton, MO for use by the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments under the terms and conditions of the Mid America Regional Council (MARC) Kansas City Regional Purchasing Council (KCRPC) contract Bid No. 02/1R; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1064. Jackson County Code, 1984, requires that, for any such purchase in excess of $5,000, the Director of Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1064. The Director of Purchasing recommends the award to be made under the following contract:
