Body
WHEREAS, the Future Leaders Outreach Network plans to sponsor its annual Youth/Community Summit, an event which will address crime prevention and drug and alcohol abuse through leadership workshops, designed to educate young people to be drug free in order to live healthy and productive lives in their communities; and,
WHEREAS, the Future Leaders Outreach Network has requested County Anti-Drug Sales Tax matching funds in the amount of $20,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to supplement other funds, including a grant from the City of Kansas City, MO's Neighborhood Tourism Development Fund in the amount of $28,178.00 for the event; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with the Future Leaders Outreach Network for its annual Youth/Community Summit; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
