Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County is the owner of certain property known as Highway 7 & Colbern Road right-of-way; and,
 
WHEREAS, the City of Blue Springs, MO, has requested that it be allowed to annex the Highway 7 & Colbern Road right-of-way; and,
 
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the annexation process, the City has requested the County to execute a Voluntary Petition of Annexation, pursuant to ยง 71.012, RSMo; and,
 
WHEREAS, annexation of this right-of-way by the City is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Voluntary Petition of Annexation, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
