Body
WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri, approved imposition of the sales tax for seven (7) years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature authorized local matching funds through Ordinance 2267; and,
WHEREAS, the Midwest Christian Counseling Center has received grants from the Episcopal Church Center, through the Diocese of Western Missouri, and Lantz Welch Charitable Foundation, in the aggregate amount of $6,500, for Midwest's "Street Psyche" program; and,
WHEREAS, Midwest has requested matching funds in the amount of $2,600.00 to implement its program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this request and recommends funding in the amount of $2,600.00; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Prosecuting Attorney is hereby authorized to execute the attached agreement with Midwest Christian Counseling Center; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on this Agreement.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
