Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00, Jackson County Code, 1984, requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Harley Enterprises, dba Cherrington Beach Cleaners of Fairfax, MN, for the furnishing of a walk-behind beach cleaner for use by the Parks and Recreation Department; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Harley Enterprises, dba Cherrington Beach Cleaners of Fairfax, MN, is the only known supplier of this type of proprietary equipment; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
