A RESOLUTION partially rescinding Resolution 11543, dated December 9, 1996, and authorizing the County Executive to execute Agreements with The Salvation Army in the amount of $132,100.00 and Renaissance West in the amount of $117,900.00, for their stabilization and treatment transition programs, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $250,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County COMBAT Commission was empowered by Ordinances 1771, 1795, and 1941 to make recommendations to the Legislature for the expenditure of Anti-Drug Sales Tax Funds for the purposes of treatment and rehabilitation of drug offenders; and,
WHEREAS, Kansas City Community Center was authorized funding through Resolution 11543, dated December 9, 1996, in the amount of $225,000.00 for its treatment and rehabilitation program upon the recommendation of the COMBAT Commission; and,
WHEREAS, the contract with Kansas City Community Center was never executed, thereby releasing funds originally set aside for them in the amount of $225,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the COMBAT Commission has carefully reviewed proposals from The Salvation Army and Renaissance West for their social detoxification programs; and,
WHEREAS, since the Agreement with Kansas City Community Center authorized by Resolution 11543 has not yet been executed, it is appropriate that the Resolution be partially rescinded as to the funding authorized for Kansas City Community Center and that Agreements for The Salvation Army and Renaissance West in the amounts of $132,100.00 and $117,900.00, respectively, be executed; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into Agreements with The Salvation Army and Renaissance West, in a form approved by the County Counselor; an...
