Body
WHEREAS, Ximena Melgoza Pecina, has served in an outstanding, professional manner as Legislative Intern for the Chair of the Jackson County Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, Ximena is a student at the University of Missouri - Columbia, having an anticipated graduation date in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish; and,
WHEREAS, Ximena was a 2015 recipient of the Bright Future of Kansas City Internship and a 2014 recipient of the Hispanic Development Fund Scholarship; and,
WHEREAS, Ximena has served as a volunteer for the Westside Community Action Network Center, and as a lead singer for the Community Christian Church Journey Band; and,
WHEREAS, Ximena's co-workers describe her as a dedicated and motivated worker, who's well-informed about current issues and a passionate supporter, particularly related to mental health reform; and,
WHEREAS, in the Jackson County Legislature's Office, Ximena assisted with all aspects of the office work, whether big or small, from social media promotions, giving input on issues, to filing and attending meetings; and,
WHEREAS, Ximena is fluent in Spanish and English, has served in the University of Missouri - Kansas City Young Women in Science Leadership Program, as a member of the Latino of Tomorrow with the Greater Kansas City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and with the National Hispanic Institute, Lorenzo de Zavala Mock Legislative Session in Fort Collins, Colorado; and,
WHEREAS, Ximena's colleagues will miss her contributions and assistance and wish her great success in her bright future; now therefore,
