Body
WHEREAS, Hope House, New House, and Rose Brooks domestic violence shelters ("Shelters) are not-for-profit organizations providing assistance to victims of domestic violence; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens
of Jackson County to provide assistance to the victims of domestic violence through funding of these Shelters; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 8700., Jackson County Code, 1984, the Board of Domestic Violence Shelters ("Board") was established to administer the distribution of fees collected pursuant to state statutes and the Code; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to ยง455.215.2, RSMo, on or before November 15, 2009, the Board or its designee must provide written notification to any domestic violence shelter that has applied for funding, whether it is eligible to receive funds, and if it is eligible, the amount available from the fees collected; and,

WHEREAS, the Board met and recommended an allocation of $119,373.00 of the projected 2010 budget revenues to be divided equally between the three eligible Shelters, in the amount of $39,791.00 each, after January 1, 2010, and said funding was authorized through Resolution 17150, dated January 25, 2010; and,

WHEREAS, the Board held a second meeting on August 9, 2010, where the Board recommended the allocation of the remaining 2010 revenues based on further revenue projections, for equal distribution to the three eligible shelters; and,
