A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation to receive grant monies from the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Federal Aid Program Grant, for use on the Blue Mills Bridge Rehabilitation, Project No. 2471, at no cost to the County.

Body
WHEREAS, the Blue Mills Road Bridge over the Little Blue River is in need of rehabilitation; and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration offered a grant opportunity under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act; and,
WHEREAS, the County has applied for funds for the rehabilitation of the Blue Mills Road Bridge, and the application was approved in the amount of $378,061.00 for the rehabilitation; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement is necessary for the County to accept these funds; and,
WHEREAS, this Agreement is recommended by the Public Works Department; and,
WHEREAS, this Agreement is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation to receive grant monies for use on the Blue Mills Bridge Rehabilitation, Project No. 2471.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
