Body
WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri, approved imposition of the sales tax for seven (7) years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature through Ordinance 2373 authorized local matching funds to government and private grants; and,

WHEREAS, the Kansas City Youth Court has received a grant from the Missouri Lawyers Trust Account Foundation - Interest on Lawyer's Trust Accounts Program (IOLTA), in the amount of $7,500, for its court authorized program of informal adjustment for juveniles accused the first time for non-violent misdemeanor offenses; and,

WHEREAS, the Kansas City Youth Court has requested matching funds in the amount of $12,500.00 to implement its program; and,

WHEREAS, this is the first year for this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this request and recommends funding in the amount of $12,500.00; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Prosecuting Attorney is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement with the Kansas City Youth Court; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on this Agreement.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
