WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office is the 911 Public Safety Answering Point and Dispatch Center provider for the Sheriff's Office and ten other law enforcement or law enforcement-adjacent agencies, including Buckner Police, Grain Valley Police, Greenwood Police, Jackson County Circuit Courts, Jackson County Park Rangers, Lake Lotawana Police, Lake Tapawingo Police, Lone Jack Police, Missouri Department of Conservation Agents and Oak Grove Police; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office provides these communication services from the Communications Center at Sheriff's Office Headquarters; and,
WHEREAS, the current desk consoles need to be replaced to accommodate updated equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff and the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a contract for the furnishing of desk consoles for use by the Sheriff's Office to Watson Furniture of Poulsbo, WA, under the terms and conditions set forth in Houston Galveston Area Council Contract No. EC07-23, an existing government contract, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $169,807.00; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4, Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing is required to submit any purchase under an existing government contract which exceeds $25,000.00 to the Legislature for approval; and,
