INTRODUCED BY Fred Arbanas, County Legislator


Body
WHEREAS, for the last twenty-three years, Lucille Denmon worked in the County's Information Office; and,

WHEREAS, in this responsible position, she has efficiently handled as many as 500 telephone calls daily and answered questions from an average of 75 individuals entering the courthouse each day; and,

WHEREAS, Lucille deserves the highest of praise and recognition for her work, having served as a dedicated and loyal employee of Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, Lucille will be fondly remembered by her friends and co-workers for her "never met a stranger" demeanor and for her generous and supportive nature; and,

WHEREAS, Lucille particularly distinguished herself when, after her children were grown, she returned to school and received a liberal arts degree in political science from Rockhurst College and went on to obtain her master of arts degree in multicultural diversity education from Webster University, having done so by taking a bus to and from each class; and,

WHEREAS, as an astute, grass-roots political activitist, Lucille has shown tremendous support for elected leaders and has organized several campaigns; and,

WHEREAS, Lucille has been involved in a wide array of community activities including serving a member of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc., American Business Women's Association, Freedom, Inc., and Rockhurst Black Alumni, among many other organizations; and,

WHEREAS, Lucille was blessed with three children, Loretta Petty, Lelia Dietiker, and the late Melvin Denmon, and three wonderful grandchildren, Matiias, Antoine, and Estella; and,
