INTRODUCED BY Terry Young, County Legislator
Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Department has a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria automobile, VIN 2FAP71W9XX206646 that, due to its total loss in an accident, has become excess to the needs of the department; and,
WHEREAS, the department has negotiated a settlement with the insurer of the owner of the other vehicle involved in the accident, which will require the Purchasing Director to transfer the title to the county vehicle; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Purchasing Director has declared this vehicle surplus; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Purchasing is hereby authorized to dispose of the surplus vehicle, by way of salvage, to Shelter Insurance Co; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to effect the necessary transfer of title.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
