Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office faces budgetary shortfalls for its extradition transportation expenses due to an increase in outsourced long-distance extraditions; and,
WHEREAS, while Missouri reimburses Jackson County for out-of-state extraditions, the process can take up to six months, requiring the Sheriff's Office to cover initial costs; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary for funds to be placed in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation within the 2024 General Fund be and hereby is made:
