Body
WHEREAS, the City of Raytown's Emergency Medical Services ("EMS"), which operates the city ambulances, was honored as the Emergency Medical Service of the Year for 2007 by the Missouri State EMS Association at the Combined Clinical Conference held at Lake Ozark, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, the Missouri EMS Association's Awards committee, comprised of many members from across the state who are influential in the EMS industry, awards this prestigious honor to only one of 280 active EMS services annually; and,
WHEREAS, Raytown's EMS's nomination was spearheaded by the Alliance Medical Company and supported by the Raytown Fire Protection District, Mayor David Bower, Charlotte Melson of the Shepherd's Center, and the Kansas City MAST Ambulance Service; and,
WHEREAS, Matthew Cushman, Director of the Raytown EMS, accepted the award noting, "The key to our success. . . quality people, committed to EMS education, dedicated to quality and progressive patient care, and, most importantly, people with a lot of HEART"; and,
WHEREAS, Brandon Buckman, an employee of Raytown EMS, was honored as the Missouri Paramedic of the Year for 2007, out of 18,000 licensed providers in the state; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Buckman, nominated by Director Cushman, was recognized for his distinguished public service to the community and his inspirational leadership of the Raytown EMS for almost five years; and,
WHEREAS, Raytown EMS has served the community for 31 years and is staffed with the following dedicated public servants, all professionally licensed Emergency Medical Technicians ("EMT") and/or Paramed...
