Body
WHEREAS, the recent resignation of Crissy Wooderson from her position as County Legislative Auditor, has left the County with a vacancy in this important charter office, which is especially critical at this time when the County's 2023 budget is pending; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature has determined to appoint Q. Troy Thomas as Legislative Auditor for the unexpired portion of the Auditor's term, which is through December 31, 2024; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Thomas is well-qualified for this appointment, having served many years in County financial management positions including a stint in the Auditor's Office; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Thomas will be paid an annual salary of $156,728.00, which is the current rate for the office, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Legislature hereby appoints Q. Troy Thomas as Legislative Auditor, to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Crissy Wooderson, for the unexpired portion of the Auditor's current term, which will expire on December 31, 2024.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
