Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 8700., Jackson County Code (1984), the Board of Domestic Violence Shelters was established to administer the distribution of fees collected pursuant to state statutes and the Code; and,
WHEREAS, Hope House, Rose Brooks, and Synergy domestic violence shelters are not-for-profit organizations providing assistance to victims of domestic violence; and,
WHEREAS, the Board met December 2, 2020, and recommended an allocation of $145,000.00 of the projected 2021 budget revenues to be awarded as follows:
Agency Amount
Hope House $62,500.00
Rose Brooks $62,500.00
Synergy $20,000.00
and,
WHEREAS, the Board recommends that the County Executive be authorized to execute cooperative agreements with the specified agencies, in the respective amounts indicated, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed a total of $145,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County to provide assistance to the victims of domestic violence through the funding of these shelters; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is authorized to execute Cooperative Agreements, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, with Hope House, Rose Brooks, and Synergy domestic violence shelters in the amounts indicated, at a total cost to the County not to exceed $145,000.00; and,
