Body
WHEREAS, on November 2, 2010, Gail McCann Beatty was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives, representing the 43rd District in areas of Kansas City and Raytown, MO; and,

WHEREAS, Gail is a native Kansas Citian and a 21-year resident of the 43rd District, where she developed a love of her community at an early age while working on political campaigns with her father, Willie McCann; and,

WHEREAS, after graduating from Pembroke Hill School, Gail obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Stanford University; and,

WHEREAS, following her love for politics, Gail participated in American University's Washington semester program in Washington, D.C., and served as an intern for former 5th District Congressman Alan Wheat; and,

WHEREAS, upon graduation, Gail became a real estate appraiser and broker and joined in her family's real estate business, later serving as local chapter president of the Greater Kansas City Association of Real Estate Brokers, Inc., and as an advisor to the Jackson County Board of Equalization and a member of the Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Advisory County; and,

WHEREAS, Gail was appointed to the Missouri Tourism Commission in 2000 by Governor Mel Carnahan; and,

WHEREAS, Gail partnered with the Mid-Continent Libraries in 2004 to help middle income Americans by providing free financial seminars; and,

WHEREAS, following the passing of Gail's mother in 2009, she felt called to refocus her energies on the community she loves by seeking election in the 43rd District; and,
