Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission was empowered by Ordinance 1771, 1795 and 1941 to make recommendations to the Legislature for the expenditure of Anti-Drug Sales Tax Funds for the purposes of treatment and rehabilitation of drug offenders; and,

WHEREAS, the County Legislature authorized grant matching funds through Ordinance 2373; and,

WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has reviewed a proposal from Children's Mercy Hospital (Safe-TYES); and,

WHEREAS, the Safe-TYES program is a program to assist youth where there has been substance abuse in the family; and,

WHEREAS, this program is a collaborative effort involving several community organizations; and,

WHEREAS, the Safe-TYES program received federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services in the amount of $400,000; and,

WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has carefully reviewed this 1994 proposal from Children's Mercy Hospital; and,

WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has recommended funding in the amount of $100,000 from the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund for the Safe-TYES proposal; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chair of the Fiscal Commission is hereby authorized to execute the attached agreement, a copy of which is incorporated herein by reference with Children's Mercy Hospital; and,
