RESOLUTION NO. 18200, June 24, 2013

Body
WHEREAS, Deacon Ross Beaudoin, pastoral administrator of St. James Parish located at 3909 Harrison Street, Kansas City, MO, will retire on June 26, 2013; and,

WHEREAS, Deacon Ross's retirement will be celebrated at a farewell Mass and party on June 30, 2013, at Notre Dame de Sion lower school; and,

WHEREAS, Deacon Ross became the pastoral administrator of St. James in July 2002, after serving as the diocese's Director of the Diaconate and Formation of Deacons; and,

WHEREAS, prior to serving in ministry, Deacon Ross was an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration; and,

WHEREAS, Deacon Ross became a permanent deacon in 1978 and went on to serve in parish ministry at St. Mary Parish in Ottumwa, IA, St. Mark Parish in Independence, MO, and at St. Thomas More Parish in Kansas City, MO; and,

WHEREAS, Deacon Ross's leadership has been characterized by his commitment to service to the diverse and growing community of St. James Parish; and,

WHEREAS, in 1988 Deacon Ross established a relationship with the people of Juarez, Mexico, where he played a key role in developing ministries in Colonias Puerto de Anapra and Lomas de Poleo; and,

WHEREAS, Deacon Ross married his wife Renata in 1967, and they are the parents of four grown children; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Deacon Ross Beaudoin, on his retirement and extends best wishes to him in the future.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
