Body
WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri, renewed the Anti-Crime sales tax in 2016 to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs and violent crime in our community; and,

WHEREAS, the proceeds and interest generated from this tax are deposited in a special Jackson County Anti-Crime Sales Tax Trust Fund that is segregated and not commingled with the general fund or any other special funds of the County; and,

WHEREAS, the voters and the Legislature authorized the Prosecuting Attorney, subject to approval by the Legislature, to contract with any organization or entity, whether public or private, which engages in anti-drug and anti-violent crime treatment and prevention activities and law enforcement school-based initiatives (LESBI); and,

WHEREAS, the COMBAT Commission solicited proposals from community and police agencies seeking to provide anti-crime, anti-violence and anti-drug prevention, and treatment activities and LESBI; and,

WHEREAS, these proposals were evaluated by outside reviewers who made funding recommendations to the Commission; and,

WHEREAS, after review of the outside evaluators' recommendations, the COMBAT Commission has recommended that the Prosecuting Attorney be authorized to execute agreement with Grain Valley, Missouri for LESBI services previously provided from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, for $75,000.00; and
