Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office has been awarded a Victims of Crime Act ("VOCA") grant in the amount of $74,059.00 by the Missouri Department of Public Safety for its Victim Services Program for the period of July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006; and,

WHEREAS, this grant recognizes the established nexus between crimes of violence and drug-related crimes; and,

WHEREAS, the VOCA grant will cover 100% of the salary and benefits for a victim services program advocate and 79% of the salary only for a volunteer coordinator/victim advocate; and,

WHEREAS, a match of $21,397.00 is required for this grant; and,

WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary in order to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; and,

WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be and are hereby made:
