Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Drug Commission has recommended an agreement with the OK (Our Kids) Program for a violent crime prevention program; and,
WHEREAS, the OK Program is a youth development and mentorship program that targets its efforts toward African American males ages 12 to 18 to develop leadership and critical thinking skills, achieve academic excellence, and identify pro-social behaviors that reduce the likelihood of their involvement in criminal activities; and,
WHEREAS, a Cooperative Agreement with the OK Program for a violent crime prevention program at a cost to the County in the amount of $16,000.00 is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement with the OK Program for the furnishing of a violent crime prevention program, in the amount of $16,000.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
