AN ORDINANCE appropriating $11,250.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund to cover supplemental federal funding provided on a pass-through by the Missouri Department of Public Safety for an existing Jackson County Drug Task Force grant, and the transfer matching funds.

Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2574, dated August 12, 1996, an appropriation in the amount of $424,000.00 was made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1996 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund to cover the Multi-Jurisdictional Grant funded by the Missouri Department of Public Safety for the Jackson County Drug Enforcement Task Force with a grant match made by the County in the amount of $42,667.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Public Safety has approved a supplement to this grant providing additional federal funds in the amount of $11,250.00, requiring a local match in the amount of $3,750.00; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of and a transfer within the 1997 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund are necessary to place the grant and matching funds in the proper accounts;  now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund:
