Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends the purchase of additional software, equipment, installation, and training for Phase II of the Sheriff Department's law enforcement software package; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Location Technologies of Parkville, MO, is the County's current vendor for Phase I of this project and is the only vendor capable of providing the equipment and services in Phase II that will integrate with Phase I; and,

WHEREAS, a transfer within the 2002 Special Road and Bridge Fund is necessary to cover the cost of this purchase; and,

WHEREAS, the County Executive has recommended said transfer; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County an agreement with Location Technologies of Parkville, MO, in the amount of $104,055.00; and,
