A RESOLUTION congratulating Ft. Osage High School's "Touch of Class" upon winning the vocal jazz regional competition at Northwest Missouri State University in February of 1999.

Body
WHEREAS, Touch of Class, Ft. Osage High School's vocal choir consisting of 24 singers, recently won the vocal jazz regional competition at Northwest Missouri State University, receiving scores of 94, 95, and 99 out of 100 from three judges; and,
WHEREAS, this outstanding vocal group received its beginning in the 1970's, known at that time as the Indianaires and later as the Red & White Singers; and,
WHEREAS, the current group "Touch of Class" has been named such since the late 1980s and is currently under the direction of Mrs. Julie Cato; and,
WHEREAS, Touch of Class performs as a show, jazz, and chamber choir, and consistently receives No. 1 ratings at District and State music festivals; and,
WHEREAS, students in this choir have traveled to and competed in Florida and New York, consistently receiving Gold ratings from national judges; and,
WHEREAS, more than a dozen students from Fort Osage High School have been selected as All-State Choir members in the past six years; and,
WHEREAS, students who have been selected for Regional ACDA Honor's Choir have performed in Corpus Christi, TX, and the Chamber Choir has performed at the Missouri Music Educator's Association convention at Tan-Tar-A; and,
WHEREAS, students have also been chosen to perform at Disney World as part of Show Choir Camps of America and been featured as soloists; and,
WHEREAS, current members of Touch of Class are:
