Body
WHEREAS, on November 2, 2010, Mike Talboy was re-elected to the Missouri General Assembly, representing the 37th District in Kansas City and will serve as the Minority Leader in his new term; and,

WHEREAS, Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and received his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law; and,

WHEREAS, Mike began involvement with local and national politics in 2001 and served as the Regional Director for the Missouri Coordinated Campaign in 2004, developing the top field organization in the nation for John Kerry; and,

WHEREAS, after the 2004 election, Mike worked as an attorney at the Montee Law Firm, and he currently practices with Polsinelli Shughart in Kansas City; and,

WHEREAS, as a state representative, Mike has fought for healthcare for all Missourians, proper funding for education, support for small business and job creation, and for advanced medical research; and,

WHEREAS, Mike is a member of the Kansas City Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, Kansas/Western Missouri American Civil Liberties Union Board of Directors, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, and the Missouri Bar Association; and,

WHEREAS, Mike attributes his success to the foundation he was given by his father, Dr. Glenn E. Talboy, Jr., a surgeon at Truman Medical Center, and mother, Edna Salcedo Talboy, an education and instructional design consultant; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Mike Talboy on his re-election to the Missouri...
