WHEREAS, by Resolution 20219 dated August 12, 2019, the Legislature did amend its Rules to provide for a change in the time and place of some regular meetings; and,
WHEREAS, it is now appropriate that the applicable County Code provision be amended to be consistent with Resolution 20219 and the Legislature's Rules; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Enacting Clause. Section 210., Jackson County Code, 1984, is hereby repealed, and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 210., to read as follows:
210. Legislature Meetings.
The following apply to legislative meetings.
210.1 [Kansas City Meetings.
The County Legislature shall hold a regular weekly meeting on the first, third and fifth Monday of each month at 2:30 p.m. at the County Courthouse in Kansas City.]
[210.2 Independence Meetings.
On the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, the County Legislature shall hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 2:30 p.m. at the County Courthouse in Independence, Missouri.]
Regular Meetings, Time and Place
The County Legislature shall hold its regular meetings at such times and places as are provided for in the Legislature's Rules.
210.[3]2 Meetings on Holidays.
All meetings of the Jackson County Legislature scheduled on legally prescribed holidays, as determined by the County Legislature, shall be held on the subsequent Tuesday of the same week.
